John Wick Is Back With an All-New Video Game by Saber Interactive
It’s official, John Wick is coming back, but not for another movie (yet), but for another video game, though this time, it’s a fully 3D third-person action game that puts you in the shoes of one of the deadliest assassins for some intense, gun-fu action.
It’s the John Wick game we’ve all been dreaming of.
Yeah. We’re Thinking He’s Back.
The press release reads:
“I can’t wait for fans to step into the shoes of John Wick and explore the multi-dimensional world of The High Table,” stated Jenefer Brown, President of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate. “We are collaborating closely with Saber’s dedicated team to develop a game that captures the unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity of the films.”
“John Wick is one of the most iconic characters in action film history. Saber is honored to be working alongside Chad, Keanu and the Lionsgate team in a true collaboration to bring the world of Wick to life in a AAA game,” said Matthew Karch, CEO at Saber Interactive.
Management is here to serve. Created in collaboration between Saber, Lionsgate, and Stahelski, the new “Untitled John Wick Game” video game will feature an original gameplay narrative set in the John Wick timeline years before the Impossible Task. It will expand on the franchise’s lore during that time with familiar characters fans already know and love, as well as compelling new ones created specifically for this production.
Saber’s authentic design will deliver on the signature style and unique elements fans expect from a John Wick mission, including a hard-hitting gun-fu combat system, jaw-dropping camerawork, intense driving experiences, cinematic storytelling, and a bold range of atmospherically immersive environments, all crafted to make players feel like they are in a John Wick movie, playing the role of the Baba Yaga himself.
This is the ultimate John Wick gaming experience that fans have been waiting for.”
Holy crap, does this look good.
There’s no release date, heck, the game doesn’t even have an official name yet, but we do know it will be coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in the near future and is being developed by Saber Interactive. Hopefully, we hear more about it soon.
