Kingdom Hearts 4 Set for Release in “Late 2027”
It’s been four years since Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced as part of the franchise’s 20th anniversary, and it looks like the wait for it is finally (close) to coming to an end.
As part of the D23 event, Square Enix and Disney announced that Kingdom Hearts 4 will be released sometime in “late 2027” for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
Not only that, but we also got a new trailer showing off Sora, the new enemies he’ll be facing, and of course, the Disney characters we can expect to make an appearance (save a surprise or two or three).
Kingdom Hearts 4 Finally Has a Release Window
From the press release, “KINGDOM HEARTS IV follows protagonist Sora and some familiar characters as they journey though the mysterious city of Quadratum, where dark creatures known as the Heartless are causing havoc. In the next chapter of the beloved series, Sora will once again journey to various worlds inspired by Disney and Pixar, where new figures cross his path and new powers awaken.”
The trailer confirms the return of Donald Duck and Goofy as party members, and also confirms that Mickey Mouse will be a playable character.
It’s been a long time coming, but as one of Square Enix’s most beloved franchises, Kingdom Hearts 4 finally has a release window, barring any delays. This should be Square Enix’s big game of 2027, and we’re hoping it devl
