Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Update 1.08 June 21 Patch Notes:

Here’s what’s new according to the console update history:

  • Issues that could lead to broken Quests fixed.
  • Controller Sensitivity improved.
  • Stability improvements.
  • Graphical glitches fixed.
  • Loremaster Achievement fixed.
  • Native 4K resolution when running on PS5

That seems to be it. If you haven’t played the game yet, you can check out our review where we state, “As a whole if you haven’t explored the world of Kingdoms of Amalur, this remaster is a solid introduction to the franchise. While this remaster won’t give players who have already explored the world enough reasons to jump back in, it’s still a good game, particularly if you’re looking for an RPG to sink your teeth into. Combine that with the DLC, the Legend of Ded Kel, and Teeth of Narros, included in this package, and you have an excellent value proposition, even if the experience can be uneven at times.”

There is more fun left in this game. Different builds make a lot of difference. Play through with them and see for yourself.

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of split between the two versions. I’d bought the original version on Steam on the suggestion of Ellen Rose from Outside Xtra, and thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Because I’ve played through the whole game twice, I’ve given myself permission to use mods, and have added further enjoyment.

The enhanced edition has meant a few things to me, mostly that mods are now more capable and don’t have to be run manually all the time. The graphics are slightly better, but some bugs did get added that has detracted from my enjoyment a bit.

Ultimately they’re pretty evenly matched in my opinion of them, though I have not yet finished the second version yet to have a more detailed opinion between them.

Though I do wish some things that feel unfinished would get completed, like the Sandstone Villa upgrade path and the various suspiciously flat cliff faces dotted around the landscape…
