We at MP1st are sad to announce that beloved actor Lance Reddick, famous for his roles in The Wire and the John Wick films as well as for his video game work as the Horizon series’ Sylens and Destiny‘s Commander Zavala, has unfortunately passed away at the age of 60. Reddick’s passing was apparently of natural causes, and happened in the midst of a press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4.

Television and cinema fans will know Reddick for his iconic portrayals of charismatic, no-nonsense characters such as Cedric Daniels in The Wire, Irvin Irving in Bosch, and Charon in the John Wick films. However, the actor carved out a special place in the hearts of gamers through lending his talents to the Destiny and Horizon games, in which he played Titan Vanguard Commander Zavala and the travelling archaeologist Sylens, respectively. He also notably voiced and did the motion capture for Quantum Break’s Martin Hatch.

Reddick was in the midst of a press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4 (set for release on March 24) when he passed away at his home in Los Angeles. While the exact cause of death is not known, TMZ’s report attributes his passing to natural causes.

Rest in peace, Lance. Your light and brilliance shall be remembered forever.
