Latest Development from Capcom Hints That Dino Crisis Might Be Making a Comeback
[summaraize]
Capcom has registered the Dino Crisis trademark in Japan, leading many to believe that something might be happening behind the scenes with the series.
Naturally, the speculation quickly turned to a possible remake of the original game, a reboot of the series, or even a brand-new entry. It’s impossible to say for sure at this stage, so we’ll have to wait and see what moves the Japanese publisher makes next.
Capcom Registers Dino Crisis Trademark in Japan

The trademark was registered on March 4, 2025, and made public on March 12. As expected, the trademark covers various types of game services, such as: “Provision of online games and provision of information relating thereto , online provision of games for mobile phones, smartphones, and mobile communication terminal devices and provision of information relating thereto , online provision of games for computers, home video game consoles, portable LCD game consoles, and commercial video game consoles and provision of information relating thereto , provision of entertainment and provision of information relating thereto.”
So, how likely is it that the Dino Crisis series will make a return in some form? There’s a better chance than you might think. Recently, Capcom has shown a clear interest in reviving some of its older intellectual properties, and Dino Crisis is one of the most requested by fans. Additionally, the first two Dino Crisis games were also released on GOG with updated versions for PC.
While the franchise was successful for Capcom, the last entry we got for it was Dino Crisis 3, which was released exclusively on Xbox in 2003, and failed to live up to the series’ expectations.
While nothing is certain, it would be unwise to rule out the possibility of battling large dinosaurs again, considering what’s happening now.
