League of Legends: Wild Rift Update 4.3 Set for July 18; Champions, Gameplay Changes, and More Revealed

Riot Games has announced that League of Legends: Wild Rift update 4.3 is set to launch July 18, and is headlined by the action-packed Soul Fighter event. League of Legends: Wild Rift update 4.3 also brings a new game mode, story, skins, and more.

New Soul Fighter Event Packs Plenty of Action! 

Available from July 18 to August 18, Wild Rift’s Soul Fighter event packs tons of new content, including six new Soul Fighter skins, an in-client narrative experience and Tag Duel, a completely new game mode designed exclusively for Wild Rift.

In Tag Duel, players will face each other in one-on-one combat. Before duking it out, combatants will select three champions that they can seamlessly swap between in battle, leading to all sorts of combos previously only possible with coordinated team play.

New Champions

  • Nilah

Nilah, the Joy Unbound, is an agile marksman from a distant land who wields a whip-blade formed from glittering, prismatic water. She eagerly spreads joy to her allies, as she amplifies nearby allies’ healing and shielding capabilities and can even provide them with a veil of protection on the fields of battle.

  • Vladimir

Vladimir, the Crimson Reaper, is a master hemomancer hailing from Noxus and is capable of siphoning the life of anyone unfortunate enough to cross paths with him. His massive burst damage and self-healing abilities make him a mage to be feared.

  • Hecarim

Hecarim, the Shadow of War, is a spectral fusion of man and beast now cursed to ride down the souls of the living for all eternity. His ramping movement speed combined with his ability to summon a cavalry of spectral riders makes Hecarim a terror to all that lie in his path.

Champion Reworks

Outside of the new challengers approaching, the Fighting Spirit patch introduces two reworks for fan-favorite champions. Janna, the Storm’s Fury, is receiving a rework focused on making her abilities more consistent and user-friendly. Meanwhile, Annie, the Dark Child, will benefit from updates to her interactions with Tibbers.

Gameplay Changes

  • Runes

The Rune system is being overhauled and will bring 11 new runes and a few adjustments to existing ones. Keystones will no longer be bound to specific rune paths to introduce more variety and impactful decision-making.

  • Vision

Scryer’s Blooms will now reveal a fixed location plus a bonus area at the end of their range. Also, when inner turrets go down, a poro will spawn in the nearby jungle, which will grant the defending team vision essential for taking back control.

  • Items

Support items are being reworked, similar to the recent updates marksmen and tank items in previous updates. The patch also brings new boot enchantments and changes to some existing ones.

  • Comeback mechanic 

A new comeback mechanic will be implemented, rewarding the team that’s behind with bonus rewards for taking down enemy structures.

Ranked

Ranked Season 10 is here! As players climb to the top, they’ll also be on their way to earning this season’s Ranked skin, Glorious Basilisk Jarvan IV.

Separately, a new, currently unnamed rank will be added and situated right above Challenger. With this change comes updates to how many stars players will need to rank up so as to provide a more pleasant growth path.

Lastly, Legendary Queue will also receive a few key updates to make it feel as prestigious as it should, including changes to how players see legendary point milestones, the addition of new rewards and various other quality-of-life adjustments.

Wild Pass

With the recently announced change from six to five patches each year, two Wild Passes will be introduced each patch, starting with the Fighting Spirit patch. These Wild Passes feature two new skins, respectively: Dream Raider Thresh and Food Spirits Yuumi!
