During today’s RGG Summit, Sega unveiled Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth release date, accompanied by new trailers, the pre-order bonuses, and an in-depth gameplay presentation, providing a ton of information on the upcoming title.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Pre-Order Bonuses:

The game releases January 26, 2024 for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-ordering will net you the following bonuses:

  • Hero’s Booster Pack (to level up faster)
  • Special Jobs Set (Tennis Ace and Linebacker Jobs)

While Like a Dragon 7 focused on Ichiban’s quest to reclaim his position within the clan, the sequel promises a more intimate narrative, as our protagonist embarks on a journey to Hawaii in search of his mother. However, things take a turn for the worse, thrusting Ichiban into a challenging situation in this unfamiliar setting. Now, it is up to him to navigate this world and rise to the top once more.

In addition to the story trailer, the developers made a huge announcement regarding the game’s cast. Danny Trejo and Daniel Dae Kim have joined the game’s ensemble, each playing pivotal roles in the narrative.

Danny Trejo takes on the role of Dwight, who “leads the Barracudas, the world’s largest counterfeit goods market, aided by his sharp sense of business and even sharper machete.” On the other hand, Daniel Dae Kim plays Masataka Ebina, a mysterious new character you’ll come across in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

On top of the aforementioned information, we also got a gameplay deep dive which showcased the combat system, new jobs, poundmates, mini-games, and various other activities available for participation.

The combat remains largely akin to the previous game, albeit with added intricacies and a wide range of options. Some familiar faces will return along with some exciting new additions. The most significant inclusion to the party is Kazuma Kiryu, marking his turn-based debut. He will be joined by former party members, and there are sure to be some surprises as well.

The new jobs in the game include but are not limited to the following:

  • Samurai
  • Desperado
  • Geodancer
  • Pyrodancer
  • Housekeeper
  • Action Star
  • Sujimancer

Poundmates are set to make a comeback as well, with the return of fan-favorite characters including Kaoru Sayama and Shun Akiyama. For those of you unfamiliar, poundmates is a summon mechanic that allows you to turn the tide of battle in your favor.

In keeping with RGG Studios’ tradition, the game includes some fun mini-games as well. One of them is ‘Crazy Delivery,’ a food delivery challenge where you must fulfill people’s orders within a tight timeframe. You can also explore the ‘Miss Match” dating app, in which you will try to find the best match for you, and you never know, you may just get lucky. The beloved Karaoke makes a return as well, featuring  majority of the cast for song performances. On top of these mini-games, there’s a collection of classic SEGA titles for you to enjoy within the game.

Loved Like A Dragon and the Rpg elements, this is very exciting the turned based combat was what kept me coming back for more.
