Lords of the Fallen Post-Launch Support Discussed by Devs, New Content Will Depend on Player Feedback

lords of the fallen post launch support

While Lords of the Fallen is now confirmed to take gamers 30 or so hours to complete, gamers will be glad to know that there’s no cut content set to later be sold as DLC, as developer HexWorks’ Lords of the Fallen post-launch content support is based on how players receive the game initially.

Speaking to MP1st during our hands-on preview of the game, HexWorks’ studio boss Saul Gascon mentioned that outside of the usual improvements and post-launch patches, content isn’t being planned yet, though that will change if the community asks for more of the game.

MP1st: In terms of post-launch content, does Hexworks have something in mind already, or is the game more of a traditional action rpg in the sense that once you’ve finished the single-player story, you’re essentially done?

Saul Gascon –  We have several things in mind that will all depend on us from the community feedback – how people ask for more, right? So basically, we have to plan ahead, which is our original plan, working on the next one. But if the community asks for more content, we might have a bit of an effort to create more content for this game we’re launching right now, this year. It’ll depend a lot on that.

Then on top of this, we’re gonna be supporting post-launch with free updates for people, like improvements, requests, and feedback. We’ll be doing that for at least like six months to one year after launch, based on the request that we receive. That’s something that we’re going to be doing post-launch.

While most games these days have some sort of seasonal content already planned even before the actual game is released, that doesn’t really apply to action-RPGs that focus on single-player more than anything else. One perfect example of this is Elden Ring, as the game’s first major content expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree was announced just this year.

Let’s hope Lords of the Fallen becomes a big enough hit that HexWorks will feel that they need to develop more content for the game.

Lords of the Fallen will be released this October 13 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
