Marathon Down on March 24 for 1.0.5.1 Roll Out

For those having issues logging in to Marathon, it’s not just you, as Bungie has taken the game’s servers down on March 24, and this is for planned maintenance to release a new patch with version number 1.0.5.1.

Expect the servers to be unavailable for a few hours, and given Marathon is an online game, this means the entire experience will be offline temporarily.

Update: The patch notes for today’s update is finally available.

Tuesday, March 24, 2026 — Update 1.0.5.1

5:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon will undergo maintenance. Sign-on will be unavailable. Players actively in runs will be able to complete them.
5:30AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon will begin being brought offline for expected maintenance. Players will start being removed from activities.
~7:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	The latest Marathon update is expected to become available across all platforms and regions.
~8:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Players are expected to be able to log back into Marathon. Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
9:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon maintenance is expected to conclude. Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update. Players who observe issues should report to the Marathon Help Forum.

Expect the patch notes to be available soon, and once they’re out, we’ll link to them in this article.
