Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed Indefinitely
While comic book fans have Marvel’s Wolverine by Insomniac Games to look forward to next year, it’s not the only game based on Marvel. Skydance’s Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is also slated to release on consoles and PC in 2026.
Unfortunately, our chance to play a AAA Marvel game not made by Sony will have to wait, as Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed indefinitely, which is a bummer to see.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed
In an announcement, Skydance Games said they are delaying it to ensure the game’s quality is up to snuff of what gamers are expecting.
The message reads, At Skydance Games, our goal is to deliver unforgettable, premium games that honor the characters and worlds we’re fortunate to work with. MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect.’
The studio adds, “To fully realize our vision for MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’ve made the decision to shift our release window beyond early 2026.
We’re grateful for the passion and support from the community and players around the world. The team is working hard to create something truly special, and we look forward to sharing more with you as development progresses.”
In case you didn’t know, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra’s development is headed by Amy Hennig, one of the
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra by Skydance, which is headed by former Naughty Dog dev Amy Hennig, the creative force behind the widely-revered Uncharted franchise.
Aside from Marvel 1943, another AAA title has been confirmed to be delayed as well, and it’s the biggest one of them all, Grand Theft Auto 6, which has been pushed back to November 2026.
Since Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra’s announcement two years ago, Skydance went dark and we haven’t seen the game since. The only development we’ve had so far is our report, where we showed everyone an early look at gameplay at the title a few months ago. Here’s hoping we get our first official gameplay look and release window sometime soon.

Skydance is owned by Paramount… Paramount is being controlled by the government. This is the same company who got Colbert cancelled as a way to make amends with Orange Leader. They probably saw the cover image featuring strong PoC and said remove them and make this solely about Cap America.
This game had footage leaked recently and it looked very close to being done. It’s crazy to think they were working on this for 4 years and now its getting pushed back without any word on a release date.
