GTA 6 Delayed to November 2026
It’s been a while since we last heard anything about GTA 6, Rockstar Games’ next iteration in the long running Grand Theft Auto series, but today, that has finally changed. But don’t get your hopes up too much, as the news isn’t a new trailer or some sort of info dump.
Nope, instead we have some bad news for the GTA community, as Rockstar Games have announced that GTA 6 is being delayed to November 2026. I just want to iterate, that no, this is not some sort of early April Fools joke.
GTA 6 New Release Date Set for November 19, 2026

Originally set to release this coming May, Rockstar Games announced today on socials that their highly anticipated open-world action adventure game, Grand Theft Auto 6, is being delayed to November 19, 2026.
“Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.” Rockstar shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”
In all honesty, I can’t say we’re surprised by the news of it being delayed. I can’t remember the last time a GTA game, or a Rockstar release, wasn’t hit with a delay and many had already suspected that was going to be the case for GTA 6.
Of course that doesn’t make hearing this news any better. On the bright side, other publishers now have a bigger window to release their games earlier in the year without having to worry about being overshadowed by GTA 6. Though those who were planning to release their game late 2026, may now have to rethink that.
GTA 6 is now releasing on November 19, 2026, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
