With GTA 6 launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in just two weeks, many players are already preparing to spend $80 on the standard edition or $100 on the Ultimate Edition.

But what if buying GTA 6 could actually help you save money instead?

A financial expert believes that playing GTA 6 could save you thousands of dollars, simply by spending more time playing the game instead of going out.

Playing GTA 6 to the Fullest Could Save You Almost $5,000

According to Mark Tilbury, a British self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, and social media content creator, spending money on GTA 6 might actually help you save around $5,000. Tilbury used the $100 Ultimate Edition of GTA 6 to explain his idea.

He calculated that finishing the game in 80 hours would cost players around $1.25 per hour of entertainment. However, completing side activities and fully exploring the game’s map could bring that cost down to just $0.50 per hour.

Tilbury then suggested that playing four hours a day would provide around 50 evenings of entertainment. If someone normally spends $100 on a night out, staying home to play GTA 6 instead could save them $5,000.

Of course, his video was meant to be humorous, as not everyone spends $100 every time they go out. However, his point about saving money by staying home and playing GTA 6 makes sense.

The hours spent playing GTA 6 could replace other activities that usually cost money, such as going to parties, eating at restaurants, or watching movies at the cinema.

For example, if someone spends an average of $40 on each night out, staying home for 50 evenings could save them around $2,000, which is still a considerable amount of money.

In other GTA 6 news, the game is so big that fans are getting guidance from the Australian government on how to take time off work on launch day. In addition, Rockstar will pay Miami $3 million to promote GTA 6 despite protests from officials who say the game could harm the city’s public image.
