Marvel's Wolverine Gameplay

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just around the corner, it’s about time for the team behind it to shift their focus to the next big thing. Tommy Mann, the Senior Cinematic Animator on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, confirmed today on Twitter that he has wrapped up work on the web-slinging adventure game and begun working on the Insomniac Wolverine game coming to PS5.

Up until now, Insomniac has been hard at work pushing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and garnering excitement for it. Just earlier this year, they announced a limited edition PS5 with a Spider-Man skin. We also got new gameplay earlier this year and a detailed breakdown of the different editions of the game available for pre-order. This is the first big first-party title that Sony’s had lined up in a while, so it makes sense to see the studio putting so much effort into building excitement for it.

Marvel’s Wolverine, on the other hand, has been radio silent since its announcement at a PlayStation Showcase all the way back in 2021. All we really know about the game is that it’s being built by the same team and that it’ll feature a darker, more mature tone than the Spider-Man games that have come before it. The rest has been left up to our imagination for the time being.

Regardless of when the upcoming Insomniac Wolverine game is slated to release, we’re definitely looking forward to slicing up bad guys as Weapon X.
