A new PC mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just dropped, and while most mods typically involve new suits, performance fixes, and visual changes, this new one completely changes the way people play.

In fact, it’s so good that we’re hoping Insomniac Games will use it as inspiration for their next game.

Spider-Man 2 PC Mod Will Have You Reliving Web of Shadows

Dubbed “Rage Settings,” this mod (downloadable on NexusMods) allows players to configure various aspects of the Symbiote Surge and even adds a toggle to enable Surge mode at any time. That includes mid-combos, as seen in the video above. A full list of features for this in work of progress mod can be found below.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Rage Settings Mod Features

  • Select any suit from Peter or Miles’ collection to use for Surge mode, including any available suit styles, or live Harry’s dream and use Venom.
  • Enable the Quick Transform option to skip the long Surge intro animation and seamlessly transition between states.
  • Want to relive the Web of Shadows experience? Enable the Toggle Rage option, allowing you to toggle Surge mode at will during combat or traversal to make an experience of your own.
  • Feeling a little too powerful? Disable invincibility in Surge mode to bring some much needed risk to combat.

This is easily one of the most impressive mods we’ve seen for the game, and while it might seem like a tiny change, the gameplay showcase above is proof enough of just how much of a difference this feature can make.

Will we see this in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3? Who knows, but given we still don’t even have a follow-up info drop from Marvel’s Wolverine after the initial reveal, the latest Spider-Man game won’t be here for quite a while. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a launch game for the PS6.
