New Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Restores Cut Early Access Content, Including Deleted Scenes and NPCs
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a huge success and has won multiple awards since its release, with Larian Studios’ RPG remaining highly regarded ever since. But did you know that the Early Access build contained content that wasn’t available in the final retail build?
If you’re wondering what that content was all about, you now have a chance to experience it.
A new mod now makes that possible, allowing players to experience content that was removed before the final release, including deleted scenes, NPCs, and more.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Can Revisit Early Access Thanks to a New Mod

The mod is the work of a creator known as “HyperspaceTowel”, who restored a large amount of content that never made it into the final version of Baldur’s Gate 3.
According to the modder, the project brings back over 100 conversations and more than 1,000 fully voiced dialogue lines that were cut from the game. It also adds content that fits naturally into the full story, giving players more NPC encounters and additional camp events.
Companion reactivity has also been expanded, especially for Astarion, Gale, Lae’zel, and Shadowheart. There is also a smaller amount of restored content for Karlach and Wyll, and they can now react to several events during Act 1.
Most of the restored scenes are almost a 1:1 recreation of how they appeared during Early Access, although some were slightly changed. Content that could not be fully recovered, such as Shell Kid, was rebuilt from the ground up based on the scraps found by the modder.
On top of that, HyperspaceTowel reworked some cinematics to improve camera work and timing. The modder started by restoring trimmed Early Access lines in the full game and then added new ones where needed. Interestingly, new scenes were also created for Wyll and Karlach so they would match the increased dialogue of the other companions.
All of this content can be viewed and downloaded online, and the modder has also released trailers showcasing the project, which you can find on the official mod page.
In other news, a Baldur’s Gate 3 fan spent $20,000 on a custom-made Astarion sex doll, praising the details but noting it wasn’t exactly what she had hoped for.
