With Infinity Ward suddenly the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 patch just now, it seems loads of players are having issues downloading and installing the update file. Players are greeted with a Modern Warfare 2 “Can’t Install” or “Multiplayer Not Installed” prompt for the new Multiplayer Pack they are being asked to download, which means that gamers can’t launch multiplayer (or the game) at all.
Multiple people on the MW2 subreddit have reported on the issues, and sadly, Infinity Ward hasn’t acknowledged it just yet. Thankfully, a fix has been spotted among the rubble!
I’ve redownloaded the game 2 times already, I’ve cleared my cache and rebuilt my data base. Is there something wrong ? Or what do I need to do? . from ModernWarfareII

Modern Warfare 2 Can’t Install Multiplayer Pack Fix After New Update (1.10) | Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Not Installed Fix:
Here’s a fix/workaround for it:
- “Cancel and Delete” the content packs in the PS5 downloads screen
- Go to “Manage Game Content” on MW2 on the PS5 home screen by pressing the options button
- “Uninstall” the Multiplayer, Coop, and Warzone Content Packs using the trash bin icon
- “Reinstall/Install” the Multiplayer, Coop, and Warzone Content Packs
- After installing, the updates should finish installing and the game will work.
On Xbox platforms, it seems this new update automatically uninstalled the multiplayer. and players will need to manually install it again in the Manage App screen.
These two steps have been confirmed by community members to have fixed the issue, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t work for everyone and every platform.
Hopefully, this workaround will take and you’ll be able to play the game as intended. If Infinity Ward releases an official workaround or something similar, we’ll update the article. If you found a solution that also works (regardless of platform), please leave a comment below and let us know.

This is stupid. Haven’t been able to play Multiplayer since the release of WZ 2. I’ve uninstalled EVERYTHING. Redownloaded and still have this issue. I’m not seeing anything called “manage game content”. Nor am I seeing a trash icon to delete the content packs. Anyone else besides me?
my buddys was doing the same he just factory reset his Xbox and now it’s working and make sure u press the clear all games option when he tried the other option it didn’t work but not it’s finally downloading I came in here to share to see if anyone has the same problem but now he got his working so if anyone having trouble reply to this or some shit and I’ll try and help

My buddy’s wasn’t working and I came in here to see if anyone was having the same issue but he just fixed his so hopefully this will help y’all he told me he factory reset his Xbox and pressed the clear games option and re downloaded mw2 and now it’s updating for him this was the only way it worked for him he tried every other way even called activision and Xbox (which gave us zero help) if anyone need help reply or some shit and I’ll try my best

I’m having the same issue, every time it completes the download for multiplayer or Co-op it make me reinstall it again. The cycle continues.

i had a disc version but switched to the ps store game and it worked only thing is it cost me a little more but it worked that’s all I can suggest, couldn’t wait any longer just wanted it fixed

I’m having the same problem. I got in contact with Activision & PlayStation, initialized my PS4 as well as all of their other suggestions… nothings worked.
I have the PS4 pro, does that make a difference? Are there instructions specific to that model console?

if you go into the game hub from the switcher icon and then select play multiplayer that works for me. I tried the uninstall and reinstall bs and that didn’t work but the other method works 90% of the time

first method is going onto the game, then back out, whilst your connecting to services, back out to play offline, resume game on campaign, then quit and it should be sound, except campaign pack is bugged also. so i did the uninstall and renistall method still no luck, so i restarted my console and it worked!!

I bought the ps4 disc version with cross-gen bundle and am trying to upgrade to the free version for ps5. The ps4 version loads up all content just fine, but even after downloading all add-ons, the campaign and multi-player options aren’t there. When I click on the game to play it says I need to purchase the game for full access. Anyone have a fix for this??? Plz help

Still no luck for PS4. My “Multiplayer option” was working prior to the new updates now I cannot play the “Multiplayer” option after downloading and installing 9x times, deleting the game completely, clear cashe this whole process is a joke! You would assume an update would fix patches not go backwards!!

I got it fixed! I tried my luck for the 10th time and downloaded the file again and it worked. I suggest try give it again and download the files again, but be sure to delete all the other files first.
Note: PLAYSTATION PLUS is not needed the patch must have a glitch/corrupted file

Ok, try this go “safe mode” on the PS and “rebuild database” click that option.
Once you have done that process reload the updates/DLC packs again yes, I know you have done it several times but this should help. Especially, after the rebuild.
Note: If you don’t know how to go “safe mode” search via google and follow the steps.
When I did the rebuild and reloaded all the maps again it finally worked I suggest try this way.

Every time I try to download Content Pack 1 the download time just gets longer, it’s ridiculous.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled on my PS4 so many times, every time I try to install it again the download time gets longer. WTH!
I purchased this late and have not even had a chance to play it. I have my Sony 12 month sign-up due in April. I am about to give up on it and count it as a loss! Have not hear from COD at all. Guess they are going to torch it and come out with a game put out by Microsoft. I knew when they got involved they would drive it straight into the ground! Tried reloading the game, licenses, delete all updates and reload, etc but get the same message, INSTALL Multiplayer and blah, blah, blah! Damnit Man!
