This issue has been acknowledged by Activision as well:
Players logging into Season 1 may see an incorrect error message stating their data is corrupt. Rest assured that your rank, unlocks, and purchases are not lost, although Loadouts, customization, and certain settings may be reset.

As you can see, it seems your actual ranks, unlocks and even purchases are fine, though you’ll probably need to customize your loadouts and whatnot again. It’s an inconvenience, but better than losing all your stuff, right?
