Modern Warfare 3 Won’t Feature a Platinum Trophy on PS5, But Does on PS4

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 early access campaign preload went live earlier today and with it, the official trophy list. However, players have begun noticing something strange, and that’s the absence of a platinum trophy in the PS5 version of the game.

With the MW3 preload now live, PlayStation players can view the official trophy list. Upon inspection of the PS5 version of MW3, it now shows up underneath the Call of Duty application, as if it’s DLC rather than its separate title. 

What’s more odd, however, is that it doesn’t have a Platinum trophy. 

What makes this even more odd is the fact that the PS4 version of Modern Warfare 3 has a separate trophy list and even a platinum that can earned, according to PowerPyx. The PS5 version has 39 trophies, whereas the PS4 has 40, with the additional one being the platinum.

Perhaps it’s an error on Sledgehammer’s part? Who knows, and though it may not affect everyone, especially those who don’t care about trophies, there have been quite a few in the PlayStation community who have been rather vocal about it on X. 

Hopefully, this is just an error, and Sledgehammer will release a patch to fix this. It’s odd seeing that this is an issue in the first place, though that may be because it’s listed almost like a DLC for the Call of Duty launcher. It’s possible the PlayStation Network can’t assign multiple platinum trophies to a title?
