Modern Warfare Update 1.67 for September 21 Removes Warzone Functionality

Modern Warfare Update 1.67

Infinity Ward has released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.67, and this is probably one of the last title updates to the game. Curious what’s new? Read on for what the Modern Warfare patch notes for September 21.

Modern Warfare Update 1.67 Patch Notes:

Ironically, this patch doesn’t really add anything new but instead, removes the original Warzone from being playable.

Reddit users have reported that the main menu has reverted to the original one before Warzone was launched, though everything else remains the same. No bugs were fixed, and heck, even the Warzone music background is still in the game, though players can’t access it anymore.

Per Reddit user LuizMW_Reborn, the long list of bugs that weren’t fixed by Infinity Ward can be seen here, and they confirm that these have remained untouched with today’s update.

The size of the game on pc is still the same if you have everything installed (165 GB).

All Warzone assets related to Cold War and Vanguard are still in the game files, i suspect that even Caldera wasn’t deleted from the files, they just hid it from the main menu, they didn’t even bring back the original MW main menu music (this one: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Main Menu Music – YouTube), when you boot up the game, the Caldera music still plays.

The Warzone background is still in the game, you can see Cold War and Vanguard guns in the Armory, operators, Vanguard Prestiges are still there and the message “Welcome to the Pacific. Drop In, Rise Up!” still pops up in the text chat.

Sadly, that’s about it. We’re not expecting anything tangible from today’s update outside of the Warzone client removal. If you see anything worthwhile from this patch, leave a comment below and let us know.

As for what’s new, Activision has revealed the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 6 new content incoming next week, which you can read about here.
