Mortal Kombat 1 Launch Trailer Shows Off Four Minutes of Pure MK Action

Mortal Kombat 1 Update 1.000.002

The time for the battle between realms is nearly upon us. A new Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer has just dropped in preparation for the game’s global release on September 19. This follows a whole multitude of Mortal Kombat trailers and details that have come out in the last few months, including a Jean-Claude Van Damme showcase and an announcement of the game’s first DLC pack.

To check out the Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer, watch it below:

Throughout the trailer, we get to see a whole heap of different fights between the game’s extensive roster. We also get a sneak peek at some cutscenes from the game’s story mode. It looks to be just as intense as the last few games, and the new twists introduced as a part of this game’s timeline reset will hopefully keep the story fresh.

We also got a few clips of the game’s upcoming Invasion mode, a sort of Mario Party-esque adventure where fighters will move around a gridded board and engage in fights with all sorts of wacky modifiers. This mode might be more of an acquired taste, but it’s cool to see something new from a franchise that’s been around for so long.

Finally, we got to see gameplay of Shang Tsung and Reiko, and both fighters look to have their own unique move sets that are sure to keep long-time fans entertained. Shang Tsung is available as a pre-order bonus for players who are especially excited to get their hands on the game.

Mortal Kombat 1 releases on September 19, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Players who purchase the Premium Edition can access the game up to five days early.
