Mortal Kombat 1 launched just a few weeks ago, and while its reception was largely positive, it’s definitely hit a few bumps in the road. For one, the Switch version of the game is a joke. As if that wasn’t bad enough, PC users have discovered that Mortal Kombat 1 crash reports are taking up huge amounts of storage on their drives.

As spotted by Twitter user @X_AZEEZ3, whenever MK1 crashes on PC, it automatically generates a crash report. This on its own is not a terrible feature, since it can help players figure out why their game won’t work. However, these crash reports are apparently taking up a gigabyte a piece. What’s more, these crash reports are stored pretty deep into your system folders, so it’s likely you wouldn’t ever see them if you didn’t know what you were looking for.
Everytime MK1 crashes on PC, it creates a report automatically, and stores 1GB of space for each report LOL.

Some users have reported losing upwards of 40GB of storage from this small feature. One user, @Shaar72537611, even responded to the original tweet claiming that their folder was 64GB large.
lmao mine was literally 64GB

Once again, while crash reports are useful, this is a ridiculous amount of storage for them to consume. The game itself already eats up about 100GB of storage space. If a player experiences enough crashes, they can double that number in no time. Hopefully NetherRealm puts out a fix for this soon, as it’s almost certainly a bug.
If you’re playing MK1 on PC and you’d like to check for crash reports yourself, they’re located in either the C:\Users\[UserName]\Appdata\Local\MK12\Saved\Steam\Crashes folder or the C:\Users\[UserName]\Appdata\Local\CrashDumps folder. Make sure to take a look and clean out your drive of any unnecessary files in either of those locations.
We’ll be sure to let our readers know if this feature (or bug) gets adjusted.

Was kinda skeptical or apprehensive about purchasing MK1 but now im glad i decided i’d wait and read feedback from the fanbase. MK1 is already 100GB and additional 1GB every time it crashes, that’s ridiculous.
