Report: Mortal Kombat 1 Roster Leaks via Physical Copies Out in the Wild; Switch Version Called “Terrible”

Mortal Kombat 1 Roster Leaks

While Mortal Kombat 1 won’t be released onto store shelves (and digitally) until September 14, it seems some stores already have the game and even sold physical copies already. Having said that, someone took a snapshot of the complete Mortal Kombat 1 roster for the base game (no DLCs).

Aside from MK1 roster, we also get to see the kameo fighters that will be available at launch.

As you can see from the images, the copy that leaked was for the Nintendo Switch version. Unfortunately, it seems this version of the fighting game isn’t exactly a beacon of technical achievement. Reddit user rearisen who has the game, offered up their impressions so far of the Switch version, and it doesn’t seem to a glowing one.

Here’s a rundown of the comments left by the Reddit user who calls it “terrible,” and how it might trigger gamers given its $70 price tag with all the technical issues and all.

The game goes back to its roots fighting wise. The lag and screen tearing is at its worst in the beginning and ending of cutscenes and before story fights.

Yeah, the gameplay is good, just a bit pixelated resolution wise.

Uploading the terrible switch footage later today. It’s going to either cause an outrage for $70 or just straight up flop on the switch.

Of course, there is a chance the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 gets a day-one update that fixes all the issues, though we can’t say for sure. Let’s hope the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions run a lot better.

Needless to say, this is your warning to be wary of any Mortal Kombat 1 spoilers hitting the ‘net.

Mortal Kombat 1 releases this September 19 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

this has more to due with the fact games shouldn’t need day 1 patches. Publishers are brain dead and push developers harder / with crunch its fucking insane and fucked up. this shit is stupid.

Of course I wouldn’t know because I would neeevvveeerrr be able to get my hands on a copy of a game before release, but let’s just hypothetically say I did get to give the Switch version a go. All things said above about the visuals and lag are true…worst when playing it handheld. However, we “hypothetically” plugged it into the docking station and it performed much better on the TV, so good news Switch fans, it is still a viable game if there isn’t a day one patch, but only if you dock it to theTV.
