MultiVersus Cinematic Trailer Confirms Agent Smith, Jason Vorhees as Playable Characters

In case you didn’t know, MultiVersus is gearing up for a re-release next week! Before that happens, WB Games alongside developer Player First Games have released the MultiVersus cinematic trailer, and this confirms two new characters that will be available in the game.

Near the end of the trailer, we see Joker flanked by Jason Vorhees from the Friday the 13th films, and Agent Smith from the Matrix franchise. Jason Vorhees will be part of the free-to-play rumble game’s lineup on May 28, while Agent Smith will be available “later in the season” per WB.

Alongside the two new fighters, DC supervillain The Joker is also headed to the game as part of Season 1: Puns & Villainy.

MultiVersus was initially released in open beta in July 2022. After a successful launch, the game slowly dwindled down to the point that it had less than 1,000 players on Steam. Servers were then pulled in July 2023 to prep for the full game launch this year.

MultiVersus will be available as a free-to-play game on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series One, Xbox Series X|S and pC.
