Visual Concepts and 2K Games have revealed the NBA 2K24 cover athlete and fittingly, it’s none other than basketball legend Kobe Bryant. In addition to announcement, we also got our first look at the Black Mamba Edition and NBA 2K24 Special Kobe Bryant Edition covers, too.

For those not familiar with Bryant, he initially wore #8 before transitioning to #24 until he retired. Check out the NBA 2K24 cover images:

For those keeping score (and unless I’m mistaken), this is Kobe’s fourth time to be featured as the game’s cover athlete. The 18-time All-Star, five-time NBA World Champion, two-time Finals MVP, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer has been also tapped as the game’s cover for NBA 2K10, NBA 2K17 (Legends Edition), NBA 2K21 (Mamba Forever Edition).

One of the greatest basketball players who ever lived (and one of my personal favorites), Bryant played for the LA Lakers his entire career until his retirement in 2016. Sadly, Bryant, his daughter and seven other people died in January 2020 due to a helicopter crash.
