New Action RPG Titled “Fate/Samurai Remnant” Announced Alongside Teaser Trailer; Release Date Set for 2023

Koei Tecmo recently revealed an upcoming action RPG titled “Fate/Samurai Remnant,” a Japanese game based on the popular Fate universe. It will be developed alongside Type-Moon, another game company.

Koei Tecmo released a short teaser trailer, which you can find below.

The Fate franchise is arguably one of the most popular franchises in Japanese media, with games, anime, and manga based around the IP. This time, it looks like we’re taking a closer look at a Fate story surrounding the medieval Japanese era, which is different from the more modern settings found in popular Fate media such as Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night.

Fate/Samurai Remnant isn’t the only medieval-inspired video game coming to consoles in the near future. We have Rise of the Ronin which is coming to PS5 in 2024, and a monster-hunting game with more ancient Japanese aesthetics in Wild Hearts arriving this February. Unlike Rise of the Ronin, however, Fate/Samurai Remnant is set to release a lot sooner.

Players can expect to get their hands on Fate/Samurai Remnant sometime in 2023, with more announcements likely on the way. It’ll be available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
