New Immortals of Aveum Gameplay Deep Dive Explains Spell Types, Combat, and More

immortals of aveum gameplay deep dive

A new Immortals of Aveum gameplay deep dive video was just released, and while it doesn’t offer any brand-new combat footage, it goes over all the little details you may have noticed in the six-minute gameplay clip was revealed last week. In the deep dive, we learn about the different types of spells, how players can customize their builds, and other interesting details.

You can find the video below:

In Immortals of Aveum, players have access to three types of magic, each represented by a different color. Red “Chaos” magic offers short-range destructive firepower, blue “Force” magic specializes in controlled, longer-range attacks, and green “Life” magic is best for rapid movement and a more run-and-gun style of play. The spells at your disposal also vary, with primary Strike spells, stronger Fury spells, utility and exploration-focused Control spells, and the powerful Dominion spell. There are also Augments, such as the Shield spell, which protects you from attacks while slinging spells yourself.

You can customize your gameplay even further by equipping Sigils, which change the effect of your primary Strike spells, or by using Arcanum to purchase skill points and unlock talents as you play through the game. Loot in Immortals of Aveum isn’t randomly generated, and you can decide which bosses to take down for specific types of loot, similar to how gearing works in soulslike games.

While the game plays very similarly to shooters such as Call of Duty or Battlefield, Immortal of Aveum sets itself apart by adding the element of magic and spellcasting into the mix, according to an interview with the developers. The game will also not include in-game microtransactions, and you won’t need an internet connection to play, either.

Immortals of Aveum launches this July 20 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
