Activision and Infinity Ward have just revealed our first look at the Modern Warfare 2 Farm 18 map in their first Intel Drop video. The new video shares a few glimpses of the new map, reveals new information about the creation process of the map, and how it will actually play.

The new Intel Drop reveals that Farm 18 is designed to allow players to play the way they desire. For players who are looking for the close-combat and fast-paced experience of Shoothouse from Modern Warfare 2019, the big building in the middle of the map is available and will provide a similar experience. For others who want a general open-spaced and more relaxed experience, they can simply stay outside of the Shoothouse area and explore the rest of the map freely.
“Farm 18 came out of the idea of—we kind of like the Shoot House facility map, so we decided to think of hidden training facilities,” said Geoffrey Smith, director of multiplayer design. “But it’s also in an industrial cement factory, and the idea was, what if we put a Shoot House-type situation in the middle? If you really want to play that crazy game, you can go to the center and that action will find you. If you want to pull back and play a different way, it’s still available to you.”
Call of Duty fans will want to keep an eye out for the Call of Duty Next event. The event is set to reveal multiplayer for Modern Warfare 2, as well as Warzone 2 news, and Warzone Mobile updates. The event will take place in just over a month on September 15.
Modern Warfare fans will also be happy to know that the new Modern Warfare 2 Farm 18 map will soon be available for them to try firsthand, in the beta, as soon as next month. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available for pre-order on the game’s official website.
