New Modern Warfare 3 Anti-Cheat Measures Is Causing Cheaters to Splat to the Ground

Sledgehammer has deployed a new Modern Warfare 3 Anti-Cheat measures, dubbed “splat,” which is causing cheaters to fall to their deaths from the smallest jump heights.

Nobody likes cheaters and hackers in an online game, and while the Call of Duty studios have been trying to do all they can to combat them, notably with their anti-cheat tool, Ricochet, it has been a hard and long battle, to say the least, with thousands of bans issued on the daily.

It’s a risk that cheaters are well aware of, but not one that has deterred them enough to change their ways. So, in the growing effort to combat them, Ricochet has employed a new “splat” system inside of Warzone, causing hackers and cheaters to plummet to their deaths as they no longer have a parachute.

It’s been so successful that the team has decided to bring it to Modern Warfare 3. Of course, there’s no parachuting in the core multiplayer game, so the mechanic has been tuned for falling velocity, causing cheaters to splat viciously to death even from the smallest heights.

Here’s what it looks like.

Splat they go.

Sure, an instant ban and boot would probably be better, but this form of anti-cheat is, in my opinion, always more fun as it restricts cheaters from basically playing the game. Verticality plays a significant role in Call of Duty, even more so in Modern Warfare 3. Taking that away is frustrating for cheaters and can make for easy kills for legit players.

Of course, they’ll still receive an eventual ban, but not before getting annoyed by the anti-cheat measurements. So if you’re in a game and you notice someone suddenly dying from falls and jumps, it’s probably because they’re cheating.
