Nintendo Switch 2 has been a hot topic for a while, and while Nintendo hasn’t released much about the console yet, many of the details have already been leaked.

While a recent patent for Switch 2 suggested that the console could use upscaling technology, Nintendo has released an updated patent for the handheld, which now confirms that the Switch 2 will indeed have upscaling technology.

Patent Filing Hints at Upscaling Technology for Nintendo Switch 2

Switch 2 Upscaling Technology

Just now, a video game journalist, Mike Odyssey, posted a picture showing Nintendo’s release of a patent that confirms the Switch 2 will have the most requested technology from fans.

As shown in the patent, the Switch 2 will double the resolution from 540p to 1080p, which is indeed a big deal for the console. This further suggests that the Switch’s older games would look significantly better on the upcoming console.

If the recent patent is to be believed, the Switch 2 would indeed offer fans a great gaming experience by using a process for AI-upscaling to improve image quality, similar to DLSS used by Nvidia’s GPUs for PCs and the recently introduced PSRR by Sony for the PS5 Pro.

However, it is best to take this information with a grain of salt, as Nintendo has officially confirmed nothing about this. Expect more details regarding the Switch 2 to be revealed on April 2, when the Nintendo Direct to fully reveal the console airs.

In other news, insider eXtas1s claims that several Xbox titles could make their way to the Nintendo Switch 2. The rumored games include Diablo 4, Fallout 4, Starfield, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and many more!

Lies. A Nintendo console or hand held with anything “advanced” in it? What universe are you from?
The Vita had an OLED screen in 2011, THAT IS ADVANCED, something the Switch didn’t even have as a standard in 2017.
