If you’ve been thinking about jumping into Moon Studios’ (Ori franchise) No Rest for the Wicked, now might just be the perfect time do so, as a new co-op update dubbed “Together” has just been released for early access.

Not only that, but the game is also having a free weekend on Steam, meaning anyone can jump in to try the new update without spending a single dime!

No Rest for the Wicked Receives Free Weekend and Heavy Discount to Celebrate “Together” Update

No Rest for the Wicked Together Update is now live, bringing with it the ability to play the game with friends! What was once a single-player experience has grown into a full co-op game, allowing players to team up to take on the dangerous world of Isola Sacra.

About the update:

“No Rest for the Wicked Together reimagines traditional co-op multiplayer play of current ARPGs and MMORPGS, allowing up to four players to share a free, persistent Realm without the need for a host to be online.” The press release stated, “Shared upgrades to No Rest’s soulslike combat let enemies react naturally (and desperately) to being cornered or outnumbered, and new hand-picked enemy locations means plenty of new surprises. Players can work together during downtime to share and build housing, visit newly reworked vendors, and employ a simple voting system to keep fellow players from causing too much chaos. In addition to all the co-op multiplayer features, this latest update brings numerous quality-of-life updates to No Rest for the Wicked.”

This is the first time the studio has done a co-op experience, and it seems they’re going pretty big with it, as it isn’t just your everyday co-op mode. Players will have access to private realms, which are shared world that continues on, even if you aren’t logged in to play. The game’s balancing has also been adjusted to account for the additional players, so don’t go in thinking it’s been made easier!

Now for those who have been playing, the studio also just issued a new hotfix which fixes the following:

  • Fixed Whisper Stone not working and kicking you out of realm on use
  • Fixed house guests being able to modify chest permissions
  • Fixed Marin Woods gate not opening right away if there are players nearby
  • Fixed “Continue From Whisper” not working in multiplayer
  • Fixed Player stuck in T-pose when resurrecting another player while on low health

Not bad for the first day of release, and we can’t wait to see how Moon Studios continues to evolve the experience as we approach the eventual 1.0 lead-up.

No Rest for the Wicked is currently available on PC, via Steam Early Access.
