Payday 3 Offline Mode Is Being Looked Into by Starbreeze Amid Server Troubles

Payday 3 Matchmaking Issues with Starbreeze

Payday 3 isn’t having the best launch thus far for 2023 due to some “unforeseen” issues that concern the game’s matchmaking broken process. Players are reporting copious amounts of error messages when attempting to log into Payday 3 and play a match. This even applies to private matches where solo players are looking to get into the action due to the absence of an offline mode, which is something that many are asking for. However, due to the game’s always-online necessity, the air isn’t looking so hot for developer Starbreeze. That’s potentially changing up now with Starbreeze considering a Payday 3 offline mode.

In truth, many players are wondering why Payday 3 wasn’t released with an offline mode. Starbreeze issued a statement in regards to the poor reception that Payday 3 has received. From the words of Tobias Sjögren, CEO of Starbreeze Entertainment, he declared: “We are disappointed in the issues our playerbase has faced during our launch weekend, but we are confident in our core product and the quality of PAYDAY 3 – and all available metrics point to it. We have a lot of diligent and consistent work ahead of us to regain community trust, but we will work hard to do it”.

The statement comes in conjunction with a recent tweet from Sjögren when responding to an X (formerly known as Twitter”) user. Apparently, we can expect an offline mode of “some sort” to come at some point for Payday 3 as Starbreeze works to rectify the matchmaking issues.

Unfortunately, the Steam reviews support this with its “Mostly Negative” reception. At the time of this writing, Payday 3 currently has 26,572 reviews, with only 32% of the reviews being positive submissions. It was only released last week on September 21, 2023, with a highly-anticipated launch weekend that landed in disastrous territory.
