PS3 Update 4.90 Released This Feb. 28 and Brings More of What Players Expect

Sony has sneakily (and oddly) released PS3 update 4.90 today, and it’s a small download that doesn’t add any new features. Read on for more details regarding today’s firmware system update in the PS3 Feb. 28 patch notes.

An update to the PlayStation 3 system software was released on 28/02/23.

In order to download the update, you need a minimum 200MB of free space on either the PS3 Hard Disk Drive (System Update) or on removable storage media (PC Update).

Always update your PS3 system to the latest version of the system software. By updating, you can enjoy additional features, improved usability, and enhanced security.

  • This system software update improves system performance.

Note that while Sony doesn’t list it specifically, these firmware updates also add another layer of security when it comes to potential exploits and the like.
