Reddit Down december 19

If you’re trying to read stuff on Reddit, but seeing that your favorite subreddits don’t have any posts, it’s not just you. After numerous attempts, we’ve encountered an issue where Reddit itself won’t show any new posts on any sub.

The issues started surfacing around 11:30 am EDT on July 16, and based on what we’ve noticed, it’s happening worldwide. So far, it seems the problem is more prevalent on the app’s browser version, though we haven’t thoroughly tested the mobile app.

Reddit Is Having Loading Issues on July 16

While Reddit itself might load, the subreddits aren’t loading properly or they’re showing old topics as the top-most threads. Checking downdetector, our hunch was confirmed, as we’ve seen a massive uptick in reports within the last hour.

The official Reddit status page has also acknowledged the issues, stating they are currently investigating the elevated site errors.  At the very least, take comfort that it’s not just you this is happening to.

No timetable on when this will be fixed, but given Reddit’s track record, it’s usually sorted it relatively quick. If there are any status changes, we’ll update the article with more info.
