Redfall Xbox Versions to Only Feature 30fps Quality Mode at Launch; 60fps Performance Mode Coming Later With Update

In what will be somewhat-disappointing news for Xbox gamers, Arkane Studios Austin and Bethesda Softworks have confirmed that Redfall will launch on Xbox Series X|S consoles with only a 30fps Quality mode. However, the developers do promise that a 60fps Performance mode will be patched in later with a game update, though the exact date for said update has not been revealed.

Arkane’s upcoming PC/Xbox-only FPS vampire horror title Redfall is a visual treat, but fans will understandably have been wondering about the title’s performance given recent industry-wide troubles with game optimization. It appears that those troubles have extended to Redfall in some capacity as well, as the developers are choosing to launch the game without a 60fps Performance mode on the powerful Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The title will only feature 30fps 4K and 1440p Quality modes on the Series X and Series S, respectively, with a 60fps Performance mode to be added in a future game update. An exact date for the update has not been revealed, but it should hopefully be released shortly after the game’s launch given Arkane’s high hopes for the title.

Redfall creeps out on PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 2, 2023. Players will still be able to enjoy crossplay across all platforms and storefronts when the game launches.
