Report: New Parasite Eve Game Might be in the Works According to a New Trademark Filing
It seems like Square Enix might be working on a new Parasite Eve game or a remake of the cult-classic series, According to recent filing, Square Enix filed a trademark for “Symbiogenesis” in Japan back on October 13. Per Wiktionary, the meaning of Symbiogenesis is “the merging of two separate organisms to form a single new organism,” which is also the main story of Parasite Eve.
Nothing has been confirmed by Square Enix as of yet, therefore it’s unknown whether Symbiogenesis will be a new entry in the series, a remake, or anything related to the horror series at all. Parasite Eve is a horror game that was originally developed for the PS1 and is well-regarded among players. With many horror games such as Resident Evil 4 and the more recent Silent Hill 2 getting a remake, it would make sense if Square Enix decided to do that with this franchise.
While most would love the idea of a Parasite Eve remake, take this report with a grain of salt, and don’t get your hopes high until anything is confirmed by Square Enix.
For reference, the last mainline Parasite Eve game released was The 3rd Birthday, which was pushed out by Square Enix back in 2010.
