Back in May, FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa hinted that Elden Ring DLC was in the cards. Well, if today’s title update is anything to go by, it seems this is somewhat confirmed, thanks to a recent Elden Ring patch 1.07 datamine!
In the game’s data file from today’s patch, there were a number of player hairstyle models added which were marked with the tag “DLC01.”
There is this cool braid hairstyle with two different braid styles, which may be separate styles of the same hairstyle when wearing certain kinds of heavy armors. (different braid sets tagged in yellow) pic.twitter.com/2Afy6Ma9DC

This hairstyle has a big braid which is reminiscent of Radagon. Overall, the majority of these hairstyles have braids involved, which we mostly see on Golden Order-related characters like Marika, Radagon or Godfrey. pic.twitter.com/fJN7dihHsq

In addition to that, strings pertaining to two cut incantation books that are no longer marked as “error,” which suggests we might be seeing it in the game. In addition to that, ray tracing strings were also spotted too.
Raytracing strings are now in the game files, so RT support is definitely worked on & coming. pic.twitter.com/M3qnmYiBbU

Here’s more data strings unearthed from today’s patch that mentions “DLC01.”
Reliable modder and Souls vet Lance McDonald has also mentioned that references to two new maps were also spotted in the game data:
The update also includes references to two new maps that do not yet otherwise exist in the game data.

Elden Ring dataminer Seikro Dubi shared more info on the purported new maps too:
For reference m10 is Stormveil, m11 Leyndell, … m19 is stone platform

Obviously, given these are all datamined stuff and there’s been no formal announcement, treat it with a grain of salt. That said, the fact that they’re in the data files should mean something, and with Elden Ring’s success, Kadokowa would be crazy not to capitalize on it with an expansion or two. What would you want to see in Elden Ring DLC? New levels? Weapons? Enemies? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
Released in February this year for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, Elden Ring captured the hearts and minds of many. Our review gave it an impressive 10/10 score, and called it “easily FromSoftware’s best game to date and a genuine masterpiece.”
Thanks, @sennoutantei, Lance McDonald, Sekiro Dubi, SonOfHashut!
