Report: Sony Implementing Steam-Like Written Review Feature for Some Games on PlayStation Website
While the PlayStation Store on consoles has allowed gamers to leave their reviews or feedback on games via its five-star rating system, that seems to be changing soon, as the company has been testing implementing a way for players to leave a written review on some games just like on Steam — at least on the PlayStation website,.
The feature isn’t available to everyone just yet (we checked), but images of it have surfaced recently:
Note that various gamers have commented that Sony has been sending out emails with an invite to ask gamers to leave a written review, and it’s done on the PlayStation webpage and not on the console PSN Store (just imagine how cumbersome it would be to write a full review using your DualSense!). Based on users who have access to it. the reviews are even dated, and for now, it seems this only applies to games that you own digitally. Don’t forget, this is being tested currently, and chances are, if it does get a full roll out, we’ll hear more about it soon. Hopefully, these same reviews can be read on the console PSN Store for reference as well.
Of course, there’s a lot of things that can go wrong here, so we’re hoping Sony only sends these stuff out to those who actually own or at least logged in significant playtime with the games they’re asked to review. Hopefully Sony has anticipated that and we don’t see a lot of review bombing happen on games.
