Did you like Rise of the Ronin? While some might be annoyed at Sony for locking the game to be exclusive on PS5, the developers has revealed that without Sony, the game would not have come to reality.

Fumihiko Yasuda, the head of Team Ninja, and producer Yosuke Hayashi shared that Rise of the Ronin exists thanks to the support from PlayStation Studios, which, according to them, helped with every aspect of developing the PS5 version.

In an interview with RPG Site after the PC launch of Rise of the Ronin, Yasuda explained, “We received support in publishing and localization for the Nioh series, but for Rise of the Ronin, in addition to that, PlayStation Studios was involved in almost the entire PS5 version development process. They shared valuable insights on various aspects, including accessibility and improving onboarding accuracy, which not only enhanced the value of the title but also provided a significant experience for Team Ninja.”

Producer Yosuke Hayashi added, “This project would not have started without the support of PlayStation Studios. We are extremely grateful to the PlayStation Studios team for lending their strength to this new challenge.”

Rise of the Ronin was released on March 22 last year as a time-limited exclusive for PS5. Yesterday, the action RPG from Team Ninja launched on PC, but it has received many negative reviews on Steam due to technical and performance issues, which we hope will be fixed with upcoming patches.

In other Rise of the Ronin news, if your character is getting stuck due to geometry issues, this should be fixed with the latest patch, which also addresses visual artifacting. Team Ninja has released an update to resolve these problems.
