Rumor: EA Is Developing a Black Panther Game

EA Black Panther game

According to a new rumor, publisher Electronic Arts has partnered with Marvel Games to create a Black Panther video game. During the Giant Bomb podcast, industry insider Jeff Grubb revealed that EA is making a Black Panther game, and that it is very early in development.

The Black Panther game is codenamed Project Rainier, based on Mount Rainier. It is being developed by a new team at EA, which consists of former Monolith Productions developers, and will be headed by Kevin Stephens. Grubb also says that the team is located near Mount Rainier, on the outskirts of Seattle.

In terms of what the game will be itself, Jeff says that it will be an open-world, single-player RPG. Grubb claims the story will be similar to what we will see in Marvel’s upcoming movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The original Black Panther is found dead, and you will have to take on that role. However, Jeff doesn’t know if T’Challa would be the playable Black Panther or if there would be a different Black Panther.

If you want to experience playing as Black Panther right now, you can play as T’Challa in Crystal Dynamic’s Marvel’s Avengers. As always, take this rumor with a grain of salt, since nothing is confirmed until an official announcement by Marvel Games or EA is made.
