Silent Hill 2 Remake: Masahiro Ito Thinks It’s More “Interesting” Than Original, Enemy AI Remade From Ground Up

Silent Hill 2 Remake enemy ai

While Bloober Team has already confirmed that the combat in the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, it seems it doesn’t end there, as the studio will also be remaking the enemy AI from the ground up!

This was confirmed un an interview with the original Team Silent members producer Motoi Okamoto, concept artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka,

Okamoto: “We’re remaking enemy AI from the ground up to be designed in a way that will allow players to enjoy the combat. Bloober Team’s love for the original is strong, so they’re not going to simply add new enemies. They are looking at fine details that can help make combat fun, though, which means changing AI or small design elements. It might look the same, but it’s different when you look closely. They really did a good job all throughout the game.”

In the same interview, Ito mentioned that from what they’ve seen so far, the in-development remake looks to be a more interesting experience than the original SH2.

Ito: “I think that the remake has ended up as a more interesting experience than the original.”

Silent Hill 2 still has no release date, but is due for release on the PS5 and PC.
