If you’re wondering what they’re for, you’re not alone. It seems this little Easter egg has been planted by Bloober Team, and someone has already solved the Silent Hill 2 remake photo secret!

Reddit user DaleRobinson has uncovered every picture, and managed to work it out. Read on for the solution, and what it means. Needless to say, this encroaches on spoiler territory, so proceed at your own risk.

6=B (4 holes = 4th letter of ‘I’VE BEEN HAPPY’)

The solution spells out “YOUVE BEEN HERE FOR TWO DECADES” which confirms one of the fan theories that James Sunderland has been stuck in the town of Silent Hill, and has been reliving it over and over. There are hints scattered about throughout the town that lends itself well to this theory, and now, it’s confirmed.
To squash any doubt about this, Silent Hill 2 remake Creative Director Mateusz Lenart even mentioned it on Twitter/X, where he also shared that the dev team originally thought the puzzle might be too hard.
