Today’s Triple-i Initiative Showcase gave us a peek at dozens of upcoming and recently released indie titles. Among the standouts were Slay the Spire 2, Risk of Rain 2’s upcoming DLC, and a new Prince of Persia game from Evil Empire. We’ve organized all the biggest announcements into one article for your reading pleasure, so let’s get into it.

Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Coming 2025

Slay the Spire 2, the long-awaited sequel to the popular roguelike deckbuilder, launches in Early Access in 2025. A new trailer for the game was revealed, and the game’s Steam page promises “new slayers, enemies, events, and treasures.” The game also features a brand-new game engine rewritten from the ground up. The new engine will support modern features, all-new visuals, and expanded moddability.

Risk of Rain 2 Devotion Update Brings Dead Cells to Life

Risk of Rain 2 is getting a free update in the near future titled “The Devotion Update.” Coming soon for players on all platforms, The Prisoner joins the rank of the Survivors as a free Alt Skin for the Mercenary. Additionally, players will soon gain access to a vibrant new map, as well as two Artifacts as part of the free Devotion Update.

Shadows of Doubt Slinks Out to Consoles This Summer

Shadows of Doubt, the award-winning immersive detective sim, is coming out of early access and to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2024! The Sharpshooter Assassin update also launched on Steam today bringing a whole new murder case to the game along with host of updates.

My Time at Sandrock Gets Multiplayer

Pathea Games, Focus Interactive and PM Studios are delighted to announce that cross platform multiplayer will be coming to PC and console versions of the acclaimed construction RPG and life sim My Time At Sandrock this Summer! This news was revealed in a brand new trailer which showcased the game’s 4-player co-operative mode in all its glory with combat, construction, social activities and more available for groups to enjoy together regardless of which platform they play on.

Darkest Dungeon II’s New Kingdoms Mode

Kingdoms is a brand new stand-alone campaign mode coming to Darkest Dungeon II as a free update in 2024. Protect and nurture your Kingdom by defending a crucial network of save havens and purging dangerous environments of insidious threats. Players can upgrade Inns to bolster defenses, embark on unique quest lines, and fight back against three new monster factions.

V Rising Meets Castlevania

Swedish game developer Stunlock Studios with Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI) have today released the first gameplay trailer for V Rising — Legacy of Castlevania. This crossover collaboration is set to release on May 8th alongside V Rising’s much-anticipated full release on Steam; with the PS5 version launching later this year.

33 Immortals Beta Arrives May 24

Thunder Lotus revealed a new gameplay trailer to announce the Closed Beta dates for 33 Immortals, the highly anticipated 33-player co-op action-roguelike. The Closed Beta will begin on May 24th, 2024, and run until June 2nd, 2024. Fans are encouraged to sign up to play the Beta at 33immortals.com, and Beta players will earn a chance to unlock an exclusive skin for the game. 33 Immortals will be released into Early Access later this year.

Mouse Gets a New Gameplay Trailer

The latest gameplay trailer for MOUSE – the upcoming 1930s noir-fueled, cartoon inspired FPS – teases some of the brand-new and improved gameplay mechanics in development, including;

• Grappling Hook – Enables attachment to designated points for rapid movement
• Helicopter – Reduces descent speed and facilitates extended aerial traversal
• PowerUp Spinach – Used to augment and enhance melee gameplay

Streets of Rogue 2 Early Access Announced

Streets of Rogue 2 has premiered an over-the-top Gameplay Trailer showcasing key mechanics of the upcoming sandbox RPG. From dozens of quirky playable classes, crafting, and a huge procedurally-generated open world to supercars, farming, and unique items like a rat-summoning ocarina and an alien shrink ray — Streets of Rogue 2 promises to elevate everything that made the original game a cult roguelite hit. Streets of Rogue 2 will be released into Steam Early Access later this year.

The Rogue Prince of Persia Revealed by Evil Empire

Evil Empire revealed their very first game today, after nearly 5 years of working on post-launch content for Dead Cells. The Rogue Prince of Persia is their indie take on the iconic video game IP and will be launching into Early Access on Steam on May 14th 2024. In this action-platformer roguelite, players will take on the role of the titular Prince and flow between death-defying platforming and acrobatic combat as they battle through the capital city again and again with one goal – find a way to save Persia from a Hun invasion wielding dark magic.
