Sony to Support the PlayStation 3 for Years to Come

With all the buzz surrounding the always sold out PlayStation 4 – seriously, I’m still looking to buy one to no avail – Sony has assured PlayStation 3 users that the old console still has some life in it.

“We believe that the platform has a lot of life left in it. Two, three, four years; we think there’s time left in the platform. It depends on the content,” PlayStation marketing executive, John Koller, told GameSpot.

“We have a good lineup this year and it looks like a good lineup next year. We need to keep fuelling that. We really have to keep PS3 alive. And so to do that, we have to further the content. I think there will be a good story for the PS3 over the next year to two years.”

As excepted, Sony seems adamant to continue to follow the 10 year console life cycle, which benefited the player base for Sony’s home consoles in the last few generations.

Thanks, VG247
