Space Marine 2 New PvP Content

Just a few weeks ago, developer Saber Interactive unleashed the gameplay overview video for Warharmmer 40K: Space Marine 2 that put the spotlight on the game’s combat features for both multiplayer and the campaign. For those more interested in checking out how long it’ll take to beat the game’s main story mode, the Space Marine 2 campaign length is confirmed to be 12 hours long.

This was revealed by Saber Interactive, who also talks about the three main modes players will be able to dive into at launch.

  • In Campaign mode, lasting approximately 12 hours, you embody Lieutenant Titus, right after the events of the first opus. Titus fights alongside his Battle-Brothers Chairon and Gadriel against swarms of Tyranids and Chaos.
  • In Operations mode, you can either play with 2 mates or solo in endlessly replayable PvE action. Face swarms of Tyranids on 6 different maps to defend the Imperium.
  • Last but not least, in Eternal War, fight in heated 6v6 matches in 3 different classic game modes: Annihilation, Seize Ground and Capture & Control).

Saber Interactive has also confirmed that the game will run on dedicated servers. Confirmed server locations include North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Oceania.

While that’s good news, there’s also bad news in tow as well. Saber Interactive has confirmed that they are now entirely focused on “optimization, polish and fixing remaining issues” ahead of the game’s launch this September, and as such, a public online beta that was originally planned won’t be pushing through to “ensure the best possible experience at release.”

As a “thank you” for players who registered via the online signups before June 28, Saber is giving players the Bolt Pistol skin as a free gift.

Finally, the studio has also released a new behind-the-scenes look at Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 where the devs give us a look at all the work they’re putting into the third-person action game.

A Passion Project for Everyone at Saber and Focus

From actor Clive Standen as Lieutenant Titus to the art, development, and QA units, today’s video tells the story of the team’s commitment to delivering a game truly worthy of its predecessor, fans’ expectations, and the immeasurable scale of war in the 41st Millenium. Be it the brutal efficiency of the Space Marines, the gigantic scale of the game’s environments, or the unique technology behind the Tyranid swarms – every aspect of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 represents the culmination of what Saber and Focus have strived toward for many years through numerous titles, according to Saber Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be released this Sept. 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and much to our surprise, won’t feature microtransactions! You can check out details on the game’s different editions and Season Pass here.
