Some new Starfield AMD PC requirements have been released. PC hardware manufacturer AMD released the specs on its official website, but the specs only feature AMD systems. This means no Intel CPUs, no Nvidia GPUs, and no motherboards from other brands or manufacturers.

If you’re rocking an AMD-only PC, then you may want to give these specs a quick read:

Legendary Experience: 4K
For the no-compromise 4K gamers who want the absolute best Starfield™ experience.

  • Featured CPU – AMD Ryzen™ 7 7800X3D
  • Featured GPU – AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XT
  • Featured Motherboard – AMD X670

Epic Experience: 1440p
Ideal for hardcore 1440p or widescreen gamers to deliver max visual settings and high fps.

  • Featured CPU – AMD Ryzen™ 7 7700X
  • Featured GPU – AMD Radeon™ RX 6800 Series
  • Featured Motherboard – AMD B650

Heroic Experience: 1080p

  • Featured CPU – AMD Ryzen™ 5 7600
  • Featured GPU – AMD Radeon™ RX 7600
  • Featured Motherboard – AMD A620

Of course, not everyone owns an AMD product, much less have their PCs decked out with everything AMD. Starfield’s official Steam Store page does have minimum and recommended PC specs listed, but it doesn’t provide any benchmarks for the different resolutions (1080p, 1440p, 4K).

    • OS: Windows 10 version 22H2 (10.0.19045)
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 125 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: SSD Required

    • OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 125 GB available space

While the updated PC requirements may not be useful for everyone, those prepped with AMD-powered PCs should have little trouble figuring out how well the game will run on their devices.

That’s a substantial jump from other PC titles I’ve experienced recently… But honestly it is a welcome jump. Finally a game that requires an SSD. Not to mention more modern 6-core processors at the minimum for a good experience. 16GB of RAM as well! This is the first time since Crysis back in the day where I could see a single game making PC players want an upgrade. Admittedly I’ll be playing it first on my Series X, but down the road when I have the cash to upgrade my PC to some more modern hardware I’ll probably be buying it again just like with Skyrim. Super stoked for this!
