Stellar Blade Devs Expect PC Version to Outsell PS5 Release
[summaraize]
The action-adventure game Stellar Blade, developed by South Korea’s Shift Up, was released in April exclusively for the PS5. However, it’s aimed to arrive on PC later this year (as we previously reported), and the developers are confident that the PC version will sell better than the PS5 version.
During a Q&A after their 2024 financial results, Shift Up was asked about how they expect the game to do on PC. The company explained that, due to the popularity of the genre in Asia and the large number of PC gamers, they anticipate the PC version will outperform the console version in sales.
Shift Up Expects the PC Version of Stellar Blade to Perform Better Than the Console Version

Shift Up pointed out that, in the AAA gaming market, PC devices hold a larger market share compared to consoles, which makes them confident that the PC version will perform better. They also pointed out that single-player action games are becoming more popular in Asia, which could help the game do well. They likely referenced the success of games like Black Myth: Wukong, which has already sold over 25 million copies.
The studio also mentioned analyzing the success and struggles of other console-exclusive games when they made their way to PC. This research was done to ensure a strong launch on PC. To guarantee success, Shift Up is focusing on things like optimization, enhancing user convenience, additional content, and marketing strategies for the PC launch.
Furthermore, the studio plans to ensure that the game will be fully compatible with handheld devices like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally to attract a wider audience.
In other news, Stellar Blade has released Update 1.010, which introduces new holiday-themed outfits for characters Eve and Adam, along with new hairstyles and accessories. We’re expecting more updates to be released for the game sometime this year.
