Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Different Editions Revealed; Insider Episode 1 Debuts With Loads of Gameplay and Info
The first episode of Suicide Squad Insider just debuted, revealing plenty of new details and gameplay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That’s not the only news, though, as the Suicide Squad game different editions and pre-order bonuses have all gone live, too!
First up is the insider episode. Below is the first episode, along with a bullet point breaking down key points discussed during the episode for those not wanting to sit through the full 20 minutes.
- Rocksteady assures it’s a story-driven game.
- It has the most cinematics of any game they’ve done.
- It fits the source material but will feel different.
- The mechanics of the game will reflect the squad.
- Metropolis is twice the size of Gotham City from Gotham Knight.
- You can go solo, switching between characters every mission, or go co-op.
- The early part of the game involves sending the Suicide Squad into Metropolis through a hidden underground train system.
- Hall of Justice is explorable – This is where the Squad gets their “superpowers” abilities via Superhero and villain tech.
- Rocksteady felt the next natural step in their journey was Metropolis, which was for players to explore. What better way to be introduced to it than an invasion from Brainiac with no Justice League.
- There are no civilians; Brainiac has killed them or turned them into monsters. Task Force X is the first to infiltrate Metropolis since Braniac’s takeover.
- The Justice League has been corrupted by Brainiac to kill them. Green Lantern is the first of the Justice League you run into.
- Green Lantern captures the Squad and essentially gives them a tour of the city, showing the horrors of what’s being done in the city.
- The Flash is introduced shortly and is a good guy at first. Obviously, he gets corrupted.
- The Penguin has anti-meta weapons, which is where he comes into the story. He’s no longer confined to Gotham since the events of Arkham Knight and has made a name for himself in Metropolis.
- At the heart of each playstyle is the traversal. Every character has a unique way of traveling. The team wanted the movement to be fun, and spent a ton of time on it.
- You will want to master each character’s movement if you’re going to succeed at the game.
- Each character has an iconic melee attack to create juggle kills.
- King Shark is a tank that can take the most punishment.
- Dead Shot can create his own vantage points with his jetpack and has snipers and such.
- The counter shot is an evolution of Akrham’s counter system, allowing you to counter enemies with shots.
