T-Minus Zero Entertainment, a studio comprised of  veterans who worked on such franchises as Star Wars: The Old Republic and more, may not be ready to show off their upcoming third-person shooter just yet, but that doesn’t mean that the team isn’t aiming high with it, as they reveal it’s a rather ambitious project by trying to do things that haven’t been done yet in multiplayer games, and only done in a few single-player games.

Speaking to MP1st at gamescom 2023, T-Minus Zero Entertainment’s game director, Mark Tucker, shared this tidbit about their upcoming new unannounced online third-person shooter.

As Rich (Studio head) said, it is ambitious. Some of the stuff that we’re trying to do hasn’t been done in multiplayer games. It really hasn’t been done much in singleplayer games. It really has some interesting challenges, but it’s a hero-player fantasy that I think we all have, like we all want to experience it, but its technically been very, very hard to do. I think we’re at a point now with the technology, and just improvements in multiplayer. We have a producer’s team, and I think we have a shot at pulling it off. So as Rich mentioned, really risky things are the first things we’re prototyping to try to make sure we can do it.

Count us as being curious as to what exact mechanic Mark refers to. It’s one that hasn’t been done in a multiplayer game, but he did hint it has been seen in a single-player game. We aren’t sure what it is, but we do hope that the team can make the game they’re trying to make, and hopefully, it won’t be long before we get a glimpse of it.

As for what is powering this ambitious multiplayer title, we got confirmation that the studio is developing with Unreal Engine 5. No platforms have been officially revealed for their upcoming game, though based on recent trends of Unreal Engine 5 built titles, chances are this won’t be coming to last-gen platforms (PS4 and Xbox One)
