Bandai Namco has today announced that the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test (CNT) will kick off this July 21 starting on the PS5, with Week 2 playable on both Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Battle System Changes:
Based on feedback from the Closed Alpha Test conducted since March onwards, the following changes to the specifications will be made in order to make it simpler for players to engage in aggressive tactics using the new “Heat” battle system.
・”Heat Energy” will be removed.
・The upper limit (heat activation time) of the “Heat Timer” will be changed depending on how the heat is activated.
・The “Heat Smash” command will be standardised for all playable characters.

The registration period kicks off today and lasts until June 27, 2023. Note that signing up does not guarantee a spot inn the Tekken 8 CNT.
Tekken 8 has no release date just yet but is confirmed for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will also feature rollback netcode and crossplay per Tekken series boss Katsuhiro Harada.
