Tekken 8 – The Story so Far Presented by Brian Cox

Tekken 8 Story

Hollywood star Brian Cox gives us the lowdown on the entire history of Tekken’s story ahead of Tekken 8’s release.

What does Hollywood star Brian Cox have in common with Tekken? More than you may think, as he’s all too familiar with the thematic power struggle tale between a father and his children, which was incredibly portrayed in the award-winning drama series Succession. You could say that Cox’s character, Logan Roy, shares a similar story with his kids to that of Tekken’s Heihachi Mishima, the series’ main villain. Well, almost, as Logan never threw any of his kids off a cliff, though that would perfectly describe his relationship with them metaphorically.

Thus, who better to recount the long history of Tekken?

“Every single fight, no matter how big or small, has a story behind it,” Cox says in the trailer. “That’s why when it comes to TEKKEN and the King of the Iron Fist tournament, there’s one hell of a story to tell.”

Definitely not the crossover we were expecting to see, but god damn does it work. I’m definitely more hyped for the game, though the demo already had me fired up. It won’t be long before we all get our hands on it either, as Tekken 8 arrives on January 26, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
